At Home

We provide holistic, person driven support for people who have a learning disability living in the West Auckland community. The people we support choose where they live and who they want to live with. Some people chose to live on their own, some live with their significant other and some choose to have up to 3 flatmates. Our focus is on maintaining high levels of choice and autonomy in their lives and we remain responsive and flexible as their needs and desires change over time.

We support people across 24 homes in West Auckland, all close to public transport routes and local amenities to make accessing the community autonomously as easy as possible.

Some of these homes are owned by the individual and their whanau, some are private rentals and some are leased through Kaianga Ora.

Our support is driven by each person, their specific needs and aspirations, guided by their My Plan, the principals of enabling good lives and Te Whare Tapa Wha.

People choose how and when they want to be supported. 9 of the homes where we support people have overnight support. The people living in homes where there is not direct overnight support have access to our 24/7 on call manager who is able to give assistance over the phone or attend the home if this is needed.

We aim to empower people to live with maximum autonomy and have a transitional support system to enable this.

We aim to promote peoples strengths and contributions, enhancing their Mana. With this in mind people choose what they do during the day with many people in paid open employment in jobs they are passionate about (see our employment section), volunteering along side other people from their local community within a range of voluntary organisations, engaging in pursuits that enhance their physical, mental/emotional and spiritual well being as well as promoting connection and relationship building with people in their local community.
